Setting up a local Certificate Authority Root certificate

Installing a certificate in Internet Explorer, Chrome in Windows OS

Open the folder where the certificate has been downloaded and double click it (user.der):
Select Certificate

 

You will see the certificate information. Click the Install Certificate button:

Certificate Import Wizard will start. Import the certificate, following all the Wizard's recommendations:

The import successful

The certificate installing is finished.

Installing a certificate for Safari, Chrome in Mac OSX

Open the folder where the certificate has been downloaded and double click it:

Select Certificate

The program Keychain Access will start. Select Always Trust the certificate:

Enter your password to allow the action:

Now the certificate is installed.

Installing a certificate for Firefox

 

Certificate installing for Firefox is the same in all the operational systems. This manual shows certificate installing for Firefox in Windows OS as an example.

Select Options from the Firefox menu bar (ToolsOptions):

Search settings in your browser

Select the Advanced icon and click on the Certificates tab. Click the View Certificates button:

Click the Import button and type the location of the downloaded certificate (filename is user.der):

Select Certificate

Select Trust this CA to identify websites and click OK:

Certificate installing is finished.
